PRESS RELEASE – BRINNON FIRE STATION
When the town of Brinnon Washington (population 2,000) needed a new fire hall, Fire Chief Mel Herod quickly learned that an attractive building demanded by the community with the budget provided was going to be difficult. Through networking, Herod identified John Scherer, of Scherer Associates, Architects in Olympia, Washington as someone who had faced this problem many times before.
Scherer found Brinnons concerns were typical of many small communities; an aesthetically acceptable building, tight budget, and the community perception that money was wisely spent. Through experience Scherer knew that pre-engineered steel buildings met the criteria for an essential facility, with low maintenance and at a lower price per square foot than conventional construction. He had also learned how to incorporate some great architectural features at a reasonable cost to enhance a buildings curb appeal. .
Bailey-Berg, General Contractors of Olympia and HCI Steel Building Systems of Arlington, Washington were chosen to build the new 8,700 square foot facility. The Malibu White roof and walls contrast with recessed Royal Blue indentations while canopies and the liberal use of glazing added the finishing touches to a building that the community can take pride in.
HCI works with Architects, Engineers and General Contractors in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Pacific Rim on challenging projects of all types.
